George Bush greets the Metropolitan Hilarion
On 10 February 2011, during his visit to the USA, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Department for External Relations of the Patriarchate of Moscow, arrived in Dallas.
the morning 11 February was held the meeting of the Metropolitan with the former U.S. president George Bush junior. During the meeting, which lasted about an hour, there was an exchange of views on a wide range of issues. The chairman of the Department for External Relations of the Russian Church has set out its vision of the prospects for Inter-Christian dialogue, with particular emphasis on the need for cooperation of representatives of various denominations in favor of maintaining moral values.
In memory of the meeting, Metropolitan Hilarion made a gift to George Bush in his book "Orthodoxy" in English, and a box of hand-painted with a depiction of the Moscow Kremlin.
