M. Athos - Greetings all'archimandrita Jeremiah
Mount Athos, October 22, 2010 - On the day of the 95th anniversary dell'archimandrita Jeremiah (Alekhine), the chairman of the Department for External Church Relations of the Patriarchate of Moscow, Metropolitan Hilarion, who is visiting Mount Athos, with the blessing of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, Kyrill, celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the monastery of St. Panteleimon.
Metropolitan Archbishop Hilarion was reached Teognoste of Sergiev Posad, Chairman of the Committee for the monasteries, by Archbishop Anthony of Boryspil, rector of the Theological Seminary and the Kiev, the abbot of the monastery, Archimandrite Jeremiah, from the Monaco confessor Makarios, by staff of the Decree and pilgrims.
After the service, Metropolitan Hilarion read the message of greetings to Patriarch Kyrill Archimandrite Jeremiah. Decree of the President gave the abbot the pectoral cross for the important anniversary. Then, Metropolitan Hilarion and the bishops present were warmly congratulated by his father Jeremiah, wishing him God's help in the ministry monastery: "You came on this Holy Mountain when you were a mature man, and God prolong your days so you can continue your ministry, you are doing for many years. May God strengthen your spiritual and physical strength, multiply the brotherhood of this holy monastery, bringing the pilgrims here. May God protect you for many good years. "
Metropolitan Hilarion gave his blessing to pilgrims and monks, and shared a meal with the monks of fellowship.

L 'Archimandrite Jeremiah (Alekhine) was born October 9, 1915 on a farm in Novo (the region of the Don Cossacks) in a peasant family. From 1935 to 1941 he worked at the plant in Mariupol Ilyich. In 1941, during the German occupation of Mariupol has worked in Germany. In 1945 he returned to his homeland. From 1945 to 1952 he worked as a laborer in a bakery in the city of Lugansk.
In 1956 he entered the Theological Seminary of Odessa, and the same year he worked at the Monastery of the Dormition of Odessa. In 1957 Monaco was tonsured with the name of Jeremiah and ordained a priest. In 1975, as Archimandrite was sent to Mount Athos. In 1979 he was elected abbot of the monastery of St. Panteleimon on Mount Athos.
The State of Russia's has assigned a large number of awards.

The library has 1027 manuscripts of Greek and Slavic peoples, including 99 on parchment. The magnificent monastery, not surrounded by walls, lies on the western side of the peninsula near the sea. The buildings are of the last century, grand and functional. The history of the monastery is very busy. In the eleventh century, the Russian monks held a small monastery that is now Skiti Xylàrgu (1030 approx). In 1169 the community of Athos gave the Russians (and other Slavs), became numerous, the monastery (which already exists in the tenth century) of St. Panteleimon. Because the invasion of the Tatars in Russia, the influx of Russian monks and the monks ceased in 1237 Serbs took over until the Turkish invasion, which destroyed the kingdom of Serbia (1417). From 1480 to 1735 Russia began to protect the monastery, sending many monks. Then the Russian-Turkish War (1734-1739) created great difficulties. From 1735 to 1821, the monastery became idiorrhythmic and purely greek, underpinned by the principles Phanariots Wallachia and Moldavia. Democratic simulation of the United Nations to be held in late May 2011. European delegates are expected to represent the different countries to discuss on topics defined.
We are looking for partners from two European countries 4-5. 3-4 representatives per organization may attend.

Deadline The deadline for Research Partners is October 25, 2010.
The expiration of the notice is 1 November 2010.
